Each suction should not be longer than 5 to 10 seconds.before doing suction,a nurse should assess the patient's respiratory rate,skin Color and Spo2 level.when a patient is desaturated while doing a suction the nurse should immediately stop the suction.

Some of the patient safety areas are ;

1)medication management

2)fall prevention

3)unplanned hospital admissions

4)nurse work management

5)functional outcomes and quality of life

6)wound and pressure ulcer management

The techniques use to improve therapeutic communication are

1)listening the patient

2)comprehending or understanding what the patient is saying

3)retaining the information provided by the patient

4)using the information provided by the patient to respond in a caring and appropriate manner or propose a solution.
