Hyperthyroidism is the conditionwhere the physiological response of the body to an excessive function activity of the thyroid gland.

Hyperthyroidism is characterized by loss of normal regulatory control thyroid hormone secretion. Hypermetabolism result with an increase in sympathetic nervous system activity.
