In this day and age, would you describe chiropractic as more alternative or conventional? Explain.
The reason why the osteopathic and chiropractic profession evolved so differently was because, osteopathy or DO doctors of osteopathy believed that disease is related to problems in the musculoskeletal system, and that the body is integrated as a whole, and that the body inherits the ability to heal from injury, and treatments that are aimed to enhance its ability; they also are certified in surgery. Their main focus is on the tissues, nerves, muscles, ligaments, joints, and the bones that move and maintain body structure. Chiropractors focus more on aligning the joints in the spine.
In this day and age osteopathy would be more alternative the reason for this is because; they still use the same techniques as they did back in the 19thcentury. Also, osteopaths are considered non-medically qualified alternative practitioners. In today’s day in age DO’s get the same medical training as medical doctors, but they also learn manipulation such as hands on adjustments of muscles, bones, and ligaments which is used in conventional medicine.
