Privately Governed No central agency regulates the US healthcare system. Alternatively, there are several privately owned hospitals, clinics and facilities that all operate independently. There is little coordination between service providers and programs which leads to very high patient costs. It is less complicated when such a program is centrally regulated, and offers the opportunity for cheaper healthcare choices. The government plays a big role in the provision of health care in other nations. In America, the government is essentially a private sector agency, as the private sector operates the healthcare system.
Technology-focused The health care system is very oriented on healthcare technology. This isn't really a bad thing as it means our patients have the best equipment and treatments to deliver. When using technology is pushed too far, though, and too much money is spent on this equipment, it pushes up the healthcare costs. Many Americans are already unable to afford healthcare services, and having high-tech technology at their fingertips is unnecessary, as they can not afford it. This is a positive trait when we use technology in the right way and for the fields where it really adds value. When we overuse it, it just becomes another factor which makes healthcare inaccessible and too expensive
