Answer #1

Economy as of today is strong and it is shown by the lower unemployment rate that hovers around 4% and inflation rate that is just over 2% and real GDP is also growing over 2% on a consistent basis. Further, number of claims for the unemployment benefits are also decreasing. These indicators show that people are getting jobs, they have higher purchasing power and they can repay back to the companies. So, economy is in a better condition and it is also ratified by the Fed, increasing the federal fund rate.

It is always possible that some customers will not pay even in an economy that is very sound and robust. But, it is more related to not paying due to the intentions, rather not paying due to the lack of capabilities. Hence, scope of default risk will always be present and companies should analyze the past credit history, historical bank account details and physical follow ups to minimize the risk.

Companies can account it on the basis of determinant analysis technique that is a multi-variate analysis, used to identify the credit score on the basis of income, past purchasing history, financials and other information collected by the analyst. A higher score means higher reliability and vice versa. Besides, companies can collect information about the customers from different sources such as banks and reference people. It will help companies assess the customers regarding their willingness to pay or not.

In the coronavirus pandemic, stock analysts have a new job: credit analysis. As the global economy grinds to a standstill amid mandatory shutdowns, the survival of many businesses is suddenly in doubt, especially those in vulnerable sectors such as airlines, hotels and restaurants. Instead of asking how fast a company can grow, ever-optimistic equity analysts now have to answer a grimmer question: how long can it last if its revenue vanishes? This focus on cold, hard cash means they have...

One of the primary purposes of calculating a total cost is to evaluate whether or not a company should produce a product. Marketing firms or departments typically do extensive research with potential customers to determine what price they are willing to pay for a new product, like Wedgewood's specialty candles. After the company knows what price customers are willing to pay and how much it costs to produce each product, they can determine whether or not it makes sense to...

Greetings from the real economy. I’m Steve Lohr, a tech reporter for The Times, and I tend to focus on the effects of technology beyond Silicon Valley. No question, the Valley is a wellspring of innovation and home to the ascendant digital corporate giants, both feared and admired. But it’s just a sliver of the $20 trillion American economy. Technology is only a tool in service of greater ends, and those ends presumably extend beyond creating billionaires and enriching investors....
