Answer #1

1.

cortisone 0.05g qid = 4times 0.05g= 2g per day

25mg tablet

tablet in 24 hr period 2g= 2000mg ( 1g=1000mg)

=2000/25 = 80 tablets per day

2.

nembutal 90mg hs

60mg tablet

so the number of tablet = 90/60 = 1.5 tablet per day

3.

koan elixir 15mEq bid

available 20mEq in 15cc

= 20mEq in 15ml (1cc=1ml)

1ml= 20/15 mEq = 1.33mEq

15 mEq= 1.33* 15= 19.95 ml

1 teaspoon = 5ml so 19.95/5=4 teaspoon at a time in two times in a day

4.

pen Bee K 500000 U po q4h

avaialble 250mg

400000 U per 5ml

= 400000/5 u per ml= 80000u per ml

so for 500000 u = 500000/80000 = 6.25 ml

so teaspoon should be 6.25/5 = 1.25 teaspoon at a time

should be given 6 times in a day

so
