Answer #1

Answer

(A) From the box plot, it is clear that minimum and maximum values are 3.5 and 7.5

Starting point of rectangle of box plot is known as Q1, which is equal to 5.5

Middle line of rectangle of box plot is known as median, which is equal to 6

Ending line of rectangle of box plot is known as Q3, which is equal to 7

(B) No, there is no outliers shown in the box plot because all the data values are within the minimum and maximum data values. Any data point which is outside minimum and maximum values, is considered as outlier.

(C) It is clear from the box plot that the median is close to first quartile, which means that the box plot is right skewed. In case of right skewed box plot, mean always greater than median. So, we can say that mean is more than median value in this case.
