Confederation

Definition:

A Confederation is the union of states that keeps their sovereignty, sometimes adopting a common Constitution. The Central Government is not very strong, and each state keeps their freedom to decide on most internal matters.They are usually established with economic matters(like a common currency) and foreign Affairs. A member state can leave a confederation when this member state's Government wants

• Kingdom of Belgium

Difference Between Federation and Confederation

• By Definition the difference between Confederation and Federation is that the membership of member states in a Confederation is Voluntary. While the Membership in a Federation is not.
• Sometimes  Confederation is erroneously used in the Place of Federation
