Ethical committee in health care is a team of professionals helping out to or suggesting for  decision which are dilematic for patient as well as health care professionals .They are given authority by the health care organisations to take actions in the right way. The committee composes a Ethical review board with a team members from different aspects of field

The roles and responsibilities are

  • They provide clinical ethical decision in patient care
  • Responsible in making policies and revising in case of any corrections
  • Help to make decision which is of best interest in regards to patient care
  • Take part in legal consequences when a healthcare organisation us sued by a patient for the care provided
  • They play a key role when explaining a living will,informed consent, certain procedure to protect the patient and the healthcare team
