a.Medical explanations are always difficult to understand for a lay man people and illiterate one.Michael wishing to study for GPA should be able to understand science and the logic behind an explanation. He may not be able to accept things at he first visit explanation bybthe nurse.As he is more psychologically influenced by thewords of his pastor.To break those thoughts and understanding the nurse's explanation will be little difficult but can certainly accept the nurses statement is correct and that is the cause of his depression.

b.Psychotherapy is a process of treating a mental illness with counselling or through talk by a medical professional (counsellor,psychiatrist).The nurse should explain that a medication or pills cannot be taken without an advice from the physician. Taking two pills without medical orders will be always dangerous.

c.Genetic:

  • Is there a family history of depression (if so who ,parents,grandparents, sibbling)
  • How do you cope yourself in difficult situations.

Environment :

  • How are you treated in your home (gives a brief knowledge on emotional support received from family)
  • Asking about the friends gives an idea of his peer group and the trigger for depression
  • Asking about financial background can roughly provide knowledge on his previlage to go for higher studies
