Before you begin taking his vital signs, he explains that he is frightened to tell his parents about the accident, because they may forbid him from skateboarding. Vital signs:
- First need to check his airway , breathing, circulation which includes basic vitals signs like saturation, blood pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate and pain scale-if everything is within normal limits no need to worry much if anything comes under abnormal then need to act fast. Now he is talking that means his gcs is 15/15, only being adolescent he is frightened.
- then need to check his neurological assessment which is normal
- then exposure as he is fallen from skateboard so need to check head to foot examination- expose the body and check for any injuries, bruises etc
- Then as he is complaining that not to inform his parents, for that need to counsel him , make him calm and explain him about plan of care
With all information then pass on to physician explain the doctor briefly about his case and vitals etc.
