  • Check the vital signs.
  • Asess the babys ability to swallow without choking.
  • Monitor the glucose level.
  • Get the anthropometric measurements of the baby.
  • In order to prevent premature bleeding ,administer vitamin K as the newborns clotting mechanism is immature.
  • Administer hepatitis vaccine.
  • Eye prophylaxis is done.
  • Note any voiding or stool and document the findings.
