Non-current obligations in default means any sum payable by the company but not paid within the timeline. The company has defaulted in the payment whether fully or partly. For example, long term loan not repaid by the company on the due date. Since these are long term liabilities and still not paid, they are reported on the liability side of the balance sheet separately.
