Creativity is important for managers and leaders dealing with today's quickly changing world.

I believe that someone who is not a creative leader can lead effectively. However, it would make them more of an effort to obtain the end goal. Meaning they would have to figure out ways to make up for their lack of creativity in other areas.

There are many things he or she can do to improve their creativity. Below are some examples:

  • Praise them for their hard work.
  • Provide them with feedback and let them know how happy you are with the outcome of their work.
  • Brief them properly before starting the job/project; provide them with the outcome you are looking for before initiating. It will provide them an understanding of what you are looking for as their leader.
  • Be realistic about everything.

Lastly, don’t expect to pay a pittance and get outstanding work delivered ahead of the deadline.
