Standard reduction potential of Br2/Br- = 1.08 v

Standard reduction potential of MnO4-/MnO2 in basic = 0.595 v

E0cell = E0cathode - E0anode

E0cathode = E0MnO4-/MnO2 in basic = 0.595 V

E0anode = E0Br2/Br- = 1.08 v

E0cell = 0.595-1.08 = -0.485 V

DG0 = - nFE0cell

n = no of electrons transfered in reaction = 6

F = 96500 c

E0cell = -0.485 V

    = -6*96500*-0.485

DG0 = 280.82 kj
