Antimicrobial are the substances whic are used to generally destroy or kill a microorganism. When the microorganism overcome these substances by being active even after forthcoming it or simply being alive even after encountering with these substances are termed to be antimicrobial resistant.

The main drivers of it are

  • Overuse
  • Misuse
  • Lack of adequate knowledge when prescribing for its importance
  • Patients demand
  • Accessibility in local markets without prescription in many countries

Some of the measures which can be taken by the country are

  • Strict law for prescription of these drugs unless necessary for a patient by health care provider
  • Not considering it has the first line of treatment for mild symptoms or problems
  • Prescription of right dose ,frequency and duration
  • Follow up to assess the client status and then deciding on continuing or stopping the medication by the provider
  • Awareness programs
