Calculation of Average rate of tax
Average rate of tax = Total tax paid / Taxable income
First we need to find out taxable income of each year as follows,
2015 taxable income = Revenue - COGS - Depreciation - Administrative expenses - Interest expenses
=4000-1600-500-500-150
=1250
2016 taxable income = Revenue - COGS - Depreciation - Administrative expenses - Interest expenses
=4100-1700-520-550-150
=1180
So Average tax rate of 2015 = 400/1250 =32%
Average tax rate of 2016 = 420/1180=35.6%
