Answer #1

ANSWER.

* Calculation of number of tablets required for the patient.

Order : 0.8 gm twice per day (PO).

Formula = Desired dose / Dose in hand * Quantity.

           Here

                Desired dose (D) = 0.8 gm.

Convert gm to mg for calculation

                       1 gm = 1000 mg.

            So

                  Desired dose (D) = 0.8 * 1000

                                               = 800 mg.

                  Dose in hand (H) = 400 mg.

                         Quantity (Q) = 1 tablet.

         As per formula

                        Number of tablets required = D/H * Q

                                                                    = 800 / 400 * 1

                                                                    = 2 * 1

= 2 tablets (Twice per day)

                                                                    = 2* 2

                                                                    = 4 tablets per day.
