1.

Manufacturing overhead is overapplied by $1,500

Working note:

Total direct labor = $30,000 + $15,000 + $20,000 = $65,000 = $65,000

Overhead applied = Direct labor cost x 10% = $65,000 x 10% = $6,500

Actual overhead = $5,000

Amount of overhead over-applied = Overhead applied - Actual overhead = $6,500 - $5,000 = $1,500

.

2.

Project A2

Overhead applied = DIrect labor cost x 10% = $15,000 x 10% = $1,500

Per unit cost = (Direct material+ Direct labor + Overhead applied) / Number of units

= ($20,000 + $15,000 + $1,500) / 500

= $73

.

3.

Project A3

Product cost = Direct material + Direct labor + Manufacturing overhead

= Direct material + DIrect labor + (Direct labor cost x 10%)

= $30,000 + $20,000 + ($20,000 x 10%)

= $52,000

.

4.

Project A1

MOH applied = Direct labor x 10% = $30,000 x 10% = $3,000

.

5.

When MOH is Over-applied, Manufacturing overhead account is debited
