Colderra pain assessment method
This assessment of pain includes mainly the characteristics of pain, onset, location and duration of pain. And also assess for the Exacerbation of pain and it's radiation to other parts. It questions about what causes pain relief and other associated symptoms.
Findings of pain assessments
The person I assessed for pain complains that, her pain is cramp like. It had onset 1-2 hours before the menstruation started. It was actually hurt at lower abdomen and pelvis. Pain may continue up to whole day with varying intensities. And she explained that pain wasn't exacerbated by certain factors. Sometimes the pain may radiate to lower back portion. She felt that pain relieve even slightly while lying on abdomen.She complains that she experiences other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, mood swings etc.
The above described pain due to monthly periods or Dysmenorrhea.For some, it may be really painful but for other it will be a normal monthly affair.
