D) carotid artery is avoided while drawing the blood from jugular vein of a horse.

Blood is taken from many veins from the horse, but mostly used vein in the horse is jugular vein. Jugular vein is selected in horse for the collection of blood because it is easily accessible. Blood is taken with great care from the jugular vein through needle because there are some structure that should be avoided while inserting the needle into the vein. One should be very careful do not insert the needle in the carotid artery accidently, this can be very dangerous.
