The population here is divided into 5 parts which are called quintile.

They are

0-20, 20-40 , 40-60, 60-80, 80-100.

Middle quintile refers to group of 40-60.

Cumulative frequency refers to sum of the frequencies of the group and all below that group.

We will get the income of middle quintile by taking the difference between the points in the cumulative percentage of income axis corresponding to 60 and 40 in in the cumulative percentage of population axis.

Which is 32.6% -17.3%

=15.3%
