In Canada the people with disability can benefit from CPP. This is called Canadian disability system. The disability must be both "severe" and "prolonged," and it must prevent you from being able to work at any job on a regular basis .

To qualify you must be under age 65, unable to maintain gainful employment due to disability, and have made recent contributions to the Canada Pension Plan. You have to be continuously disabled and off work for 4 months to before you can become eligible to receive payments.

Types of Disabilities as defined by the Canadian Government a qualifying disability is any severe and prolonged condition that inhibits a person from performing normal and routine daily activities. The definition is broad allowing for qualification of nearly endless number of conditions
