Many consumers focus their selection process on choosing foods that are fat free and/or low in fat. Why has this dietary choice not made much of a difference for most individuals, as indicated by present weight gaining trends in the United States and other parts of the world?

Even if many foods are said to be fat free or low fat the companies which produces the food adds sugar and vegetative oils in greater amounts which is equal or more amount than their counterparts.This leads to trans fat consumption.

So using sugars and other carbs are likely to be have more calories than normal food.And due to the use of flavour enhancer we may have health complications.

So even as people choose food that are fat free but the adding of excess sugars and salt increases calories which increases weight.
