ANS. a. Mr. Black was increasingly weak and not able to stand on his feet without support. Also, he has some audio and visual problems due to which it was difficult for him to do his daily activities. At the age of 89, he is suffering from multi-infarct dementia. All these physical and mental conditions prompted a cycle of deterioration in his mental health which outbursts as anger, crying, mood swings, etc. He didn't enjoy his wife's company because he feels that everyone is against him.
ANS. b. In my personal opinion, Mr. Black and Mrs. Black should meet frequently because as written in the paragraph that Mr. Black usually unloads all his feelings on her (be it frustration, anger, happiness, sadness, heart feelings). For me, this is a sign of trust i.e., Mr. Black feels that Mrs. Black is the one whom he can trust and unloads all his feelings. Moreover, Mrs. Black who sometimes goes away with a feeling of frustration and guilty should realize his severe condition and help him to cope with it at this very old age.
