Jim in this case has created a self concept for his image among others and own self. Self concept refers to individual perception of the individual behavior, abilities and characterstics that the individual holds about himself and due to the responses of other towards him.

Jim in this case has developed his self-image as developed through his own concepts and other's responses towards him, he thinks evewryone portrays him as a diabetic person and has his image as an ill person.

Hence, self concept can be of different types and it can have both positive as well as negativ eimpact on human mind.
