●Anxiety related to body image disturbances as evidences by presence of verbalisation, isolation, fear to face the society

Intervention:

  • Educate the patient about tracheostomy and its indication
  • Encourage to follow relaxation techniques to decrease anxiety
  • Encourage patient to use the tracheostomy cover or a high collar dressing to avoid it being exposed and criticized

● Ineffective coping mechanism related to surgery as evidenced by verbalisation, isolation

Intervention

  • Encourage the client to be with a person who really care for them and supports them during needs
  • To stay positive and be strong that they are unique

●Adjustment problem associated with tracheostomy

  • Socialize the patient
  • Get help from social workers
  • Encourage to use social media and its platforms
