Answer #1

The term 'cancer ' is used to denote a group of disease in which abnormal cells starts dividing uncontrollably and invade healthy tissues and organs. These cancerous cells can metastasize through the blood or lymphatic system . When the body is already weakened by disease ,stress or old age , the cancer invasion has more of a chance of succeding . The rapid and abnormal growth of tissue caused by cellular proliferation is called a neoplasm and usually develpos into a tumor . Most tumors are not malignant but are benign , in the past the only way to distinguish between the tumors was to perform a traditional biopsy. Malignant tumors can invade the normal tissue, damage the DNA or RNA and permanently alter the genetic sequence creating mutations. The TNM staging system is used to describe how big a tumor is , the number of lymph nodes affected and how much it has spread at the time of diagnosis .
