st three red flags for early child development at age 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. Explain how you as a provider would detect these red flags and what course of action would need to be provided for the child and his/her family.

3 months

• The baby is not able to listen or turns to a very loud noise (ENT problems)
• The baby's head has no control or dangles(neurological problems)
• The baby does not hold any objects (fine motor problems)

The child could be assessed by providing some objects to hold, creating a loud noise ,holding the baby to assess for head control.

The course of action needed are

• Refers to an ENT specialist to assess the auditory, occulomotor function of the child
• Neurological assessment
• Encourage the parents to involve the child by playing ,talking to improve function
• Teach the child to hold or pick objects

6 months

• The child shows difficulty to turn from stomach to back
• The child will not be able to bear weight on legs
• Doesn't focus on objects, turns head to see sound or calls

The child should be left on the flat surface to check whether it is rolling on ,turning to sounds, able to focus on objects, etc.,

If the red flags are severe the child has to be investigated deeply for each system especially the central nervous system

Encourage parents to take child to outdoor for being active

12 months

• The child has difficulty to crawl
• Does not speak words
• Inability to stand

The neurological status with ENT examination is required with further investigations.
