Answer #1

300 employees observed for 3 months for a new case of respiratory distress.

So, total Person-month will be 900 person-month

300 persons x 3months = 900person-months

Total cases were 30

Month 1 = 15 cases

Month 2 = 10 cases

Month 3 = 5 cases

So, Here 30 cases per 900 person-year

In the following option there is mentioned that 1000 person-months, it means approx total employee was followed for a total of 3 months and 10days.

Answer - So, approximate incidence rate will be 35 cases per 1000 persons- months

Question 8.

For calculation of incidence 860 person-months will be used.

300 persons x 3months = 900person-months
