As this is the case of quadriceps contusion or thigh contusion caused by the lacrosse ball on the quadriceps of the players, resulting in mild swelling and inability to bend knee into full flexion, the physical trainer or the physiotherapist suggests the following exercises:

1. Gentle quadriceps stretching: for a period of 30 seconds and it 5 times on this regular interval (it is suggested to avoid rigorous or strenuous stretching).

2. Leg extension exercise: – with initial weights generally 4 sets, 10 times, then gradually increase the weight to strengthen the quadriceps.

Also, ice compression as cold therapy immediately to reduce mild swelling, bruising and to avoid chances of internal bleeding. Then we can go through the above-mentioned exercises on as long term management of quadriceps contusion.
