The body has a remarkable way of healing, specifically with tissue repair. Tissues are repaired by fibrosis and regeneration. Explain what are the differences between the two types of tissue repair? Give examples of the cells and tissues involved in both repair processes.

During any trauma or injury, the necrosis of the tissue occurs resulting in the cellular injury in the living tissues. Hence to overcome this situation the body has its own natural healing response by regeneration as well as the repair process, it involves the programmed proliferation of the undamaged cells and covers the injured area.

The tissues are repaired by regeneration and fibrosis: the key difference in these two repair process is as follows:

Regeneration Fibrosis
In this process, the injured cells are replaced by the same types of cells. In this type of tissue repair process, there is the replacement of damaged parenchymal cells by connective tissues.
There is no remained evidence of damage after the tissue repair process. There is the formation of granulation tissues. Also known as fibroplasia and it involves the influx of debris removing cells
