1.the ph is low ie less than 7.35 and hco3 is low ie less than 22.the primary acid base imbalance is metabolic acidosis

2.The clinical manifestation include rapid and shallow breathing ie varying degrees of dyspnea

3.main cause of metabolic acidosis is loss of gastrointestinal bicarbonate and renal failure

4.the compensatory mechanism of metabolic acidosis include alveloar hyperventilation and decrease the pco2 levels.
