3. Can oral antidiabetic medications be used during pregnancy for gestational diabetes? Why or why not?
1, Diet and exercise play a vital role in Diabetes, it helps to
keep the blood glucose level under control and help to be active.
Adding fresh vegetables and fruits, grains, protein, low-fat diet,
healthy fats for the heart like olive oil, salmon fish, tuna, nuts,
and seeds. avoid food with saturated fat, sodium, sweets, baked
foods, added sugar beverages, eating small portions size on a
regular basis help manage glucose level and weight.
Exercise is important the same as diet, it provides insulin
resistance to lower the blood glucose level, blood pressure helps
burn extra calories, helps for good sleep. calorie-less diet plan,
physical activity, avoiding obesity control the cholesterol level,
improve sleep, reduce the risk of diabetes and cardiac
complications. weight gain plays an important role in diabetic
control and glucose tolerance, it also prevents complications like
cardiac and respiratory complications.
2, she does not have to take insulin immediately. type 1 diabetes
probably needs insulin when they longer period of diabetes, when
oral antidiabetic medication, meal plan, physical activity, weight
loss not control their diabetes they need insulin.
3, Insulin is the gold standard for the diabetic patient during
pregnancy, it is safe rather than oral antidiabetic medication, it
keeps the blood sugar level normal and prevent the problem for baby
also because insulin will not cross the placenta, it will not reach
the baby. so it is safe for using with gestational diabetes.
