Many factors can affect the optimal treatment for HIV/AIDS. That include

1 - Fewer financial resources

In many countries especially developing and underdeveloped countries, governments don't allocate enough funds to the health care sector. So those people who are suffering from chronic diseases like AIDS do not get quality care.

2 - Fewer health care resources available in the area

In many countries, treatment for AIDS can be found only in the major hospitals, which means people, who are living in rural areas have to travel long distances for their treatment. Many people may find it inconvenient and drop their treatment in between.

3 - Lack of housing

Homeless people have less access to care. They may not be able to stick with care routines because of irregular meals or not having proper places to store medicines.

4 - Less access to transportation

In many countries, transportation facilities are not adequate to meet the need for chronically ill patients.

5 - Social stigma

In this era also, people with AIDS are considered to be untouchable. Society, friends and even families isolate them from social gatherings and functions.

6 - Lack of emotional and physical support

Many studies proved that AIDS patients find it extremely difficult to get emotional and physical support because of people's fear towards this disease.
