Course objective of allied health science is to provide non mediational rehabilitation to ensure their complete functional independence in life. For the proper referral to respective departments a medical biller must know the importance and objectives of the allied health sciences like occupational therapy. Medical coder documents all the details of the services provided to the patient in a codes, this can help practitioner as well as patient in future reference and treatment, so the medical biller have to be aware of the importance of objectives and services provided by allied health sciences, a medical biller and coder also have to be aware of the area of works in order to assign or to refer patients and for the proper coding and documentation.

History of health insurance started from the ancient time itself, during those days itself china and England had their health insurance plans. Many health professionals were not willing to accept the concept of health insurance because of the fear that insurance schemes may decrease their fee amount.in the 1940s to 1960s, there was a slow, steady, but seemingly reluctant growth in health insurance.

The competition between the health insurance companies made the in-insurance schemes wide spread along the world, at the same time it reduced the quality of service and many companies were not providing health insurance for the high-risk diseases.

Various types of health insurance include,

Individual health insurance

Family health insurance, whole family, spouse, children and parents

Group health cover: corporate houses

Senior citizen health insurance: for older adult 65 and above

Super top up policy: used to increase the validity of the health insurance

Critical illness health cover
