(A)

  • The barriers that limit hispanic or other migrant health workers are mainly,
  1. National policies.

National policies constraint migrant workers from accessing the health system mainly because of two reasons.

  • legal barriers.

Legal barriers deny migrants access to insuranceActive surveillance is done by providers which lead to the denial of care as providers fear losing their medical licenses or criminal procedures.Health insurance is generally required for affordable care or required to receive services at all, these laws effectively bar access to care.

  • Need to state nationality and produce documents.

Migrants usually avoid going to hospitals or even accessing care as they fear they would have to produce their documents eventually leading to deporting or repartriation. This even happens to authorised children of unauthorised parents as the parents refuse to produce documents.

2.Health system.

  • resource constraints

This include lack of transportation and limited health care capacity.

  • Fear of discrimination.

The migrant workers often avoid health care fearing stigma and discrimination from the society if they found out their nationality.

  • Beurocracy.

Complex paperwork needed to gain access to health care.

3.Individual barriers.

  • Fear of deportation
  • Communicationa nd language problems.
  • Cultural challenges.
  • Lack of financial resources.
  • Lear of stigma.
  • Limited or little knowledge of health care system.

(B) Nurse steven here in this case is acting really well according to the situations. He has thorough knowledge and keeps in mind all the above cited barriers and he successfully surpasses all of them.He does not ask for social security cards or health insurance. He runs a mobile clinic which visits the farm and therefore patients does not have a problem of entering into the mainstream health care system,no worry of transportation,no worry of stigma, discrimination, and no knowledge about the complex health care system is needed for them.as they are hispanic migrants,Steven has spanish speaking nurses so thet they do not have to face language problems and cultural problems.farm workers usually have work place injuries, cuts, muscle pain, back pain, neck pain.and other injuries. He and his team could manage injuries and health issues with in their limits.
