John is telling the nurse that his mother is visiting him this afternoon and he does not want her to know why he has been admitted to the psychiatric unit. The nurse asks, “What did you say?” John repeats his request to the nurse. The nurse tells John, “I will not share information with your family or friends without your permission.”

That afternoon, John’s mother visits him and asks the psychiatric nurse the reason her son has been admitted for treatment. The nurse tells John’s mother that he took a bottle of Tylenol and a friend took him to the emergency room. (Learning Objectives 1 and 4)

A.The nurse has violated the confidentiality in the nurse -client ralatio ship by disclosing the information to his mother.Accoring to this component confidentiality ,nurse has to disclose the information only with the professional and she has to obtain a written consent if she wants to diclose the information to others.

B.The nurse attended the phone call when she was with the patient and this happened to be distraction to the work was doing.That is why she was forced to ask the patient what he had told her.She was not able to give attention to the patient.The nurses's friend overheard what the nurse told the patient.This is the breach of confidentiality in the nurse client relationship.
