The mentioned symptoms indicate that the client is in the end stage of first stage of labour.This time following techniques can be used as a pain relief:

a)Patterned breathing techniques

b)frequent emptying of bladder

c)application of hear or cold

d)Distraction or focal point

Butorphanol( stadol) 2 mg iv is not recommeded in the mentioned stage because this is the end stage of first stage of labor and it should not be given less than 4 hours before and expected delivery. Stadol can cause respiratory depression in the baby.
