Answer #1

2)Volume of urine voided = 1.1 L = 1100 ml

Difference in time = 1 hour 45 minutes = 1*60+ 45 = 105 minutes

Flow rate = 1100/105 = 10.48 ml/min

3)

GFR = Uv * Cu/ Cp

Uv= Flow rate of urine

Cu = Creatinine concentration in urine

Cp= Creatinine concentration on plasma

Cu = GFR* Cp/Uv

Since the GFR and plasma creatinine concentration are not given ,Cu cant be calculated

    can someone help pleass... thank u Stubborn Grandma Mimi -- Part 1: Mimi's Decline The mountain wind rattled the window of the small cabin as Drew sifted through the papers covering the kitchen table, looking for his physiology notes. Instead of his blue notebook, a pink sheet of paper from Mountain View Labs caught his eye. A closer look showed it to be his 73-year-old grandmother's lab report from some recent blood tests. Mimi had protested all the way to...

    I need help with a buffer equation. I am having a hard time answering the three questions on here. The pH is 7.40 and the concentration in M is 0.100. the total volume in mL is 100.00. The pKa of H2PO4- is 7.21. The conjugate acid and base to make the phosphate buffer are H2PO4- and HPO4^2- Equation (3) in the lab manual is pH = pKa + log (molesB / molesA). Equation (1) is [buffer] = Stot / L...

    A 70-year-old female is admitted to your unit for changes in bowel/bladder function. Her initial lab work was WNL. Her baseline vital signs were BP 124/62, HR 84, RR 20, Temp 98.4. The MD performed a bowel resection after it was determined that the pt has colon cancer. Post-operatively the pt is taken to a medical/surgical unit. She has an IV of NS at 100ml/hr., and an NGT to intermittent suction, a foley catheter, and a midline abdominal dressing that...

    2. Renal Function and Dialysis Metabolism of protein in your diet produces urea as a byproduct. The rate of urea production (r_u) depends on how much protein you eat and how big you are (measured by your body fluid volume, V). A realistic urea production rate for an average person (\/=40 L) is about r_u= 15 mg/min. Urea produced in the liver is rapidly distributed throughout the body's fluid volume V; the average urea concentration in the body's fluids is...

    Your lab instructor has given you a protocol to perform a molecular cloning experiment. In a previous experiment, you used polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to amplify a sequence that you believe to regulate expression of a gene you are studying. You will now take this purified PCR product (double stranded DNA) and ligate it into a plasmid that contains a luciferase reporter gene. If your DNA sequence is a promoter sequence, then its presence will allow for expression of the...
