Is it ethical to download music or movies without paying, supported by your reasoning as to why or why not?
If you did not pay for a song, movie or other media file that has a copyright, then downloading that file is a crime. The law clearly states that downloading copyrighted music without the permission of the author is illegal. There is a lot of hard work, patience perseverance and investment involved in making music/movies. It deserves to be paid its due. If you download it for free (most probably you are talking about piracy), then it’s a moral injustice to the people involved in the making (and of course monetary injustice too). So, it is not ethical to download music or movies without paying.
