How recommendation 7 of IOM and Infection Prevention related? Please, explain the connection and also compare with The Joint Commission "Goal 7 Reduce the risk of health care–associated infections."

IOM is Institute of medicine and it has 10 recommendations.

Recommendation 7 is expand efforts and opportunities for interprofessional collaboration and leadership development for nurses . It is related with infection prevention in terms of implementation of the actions to prevent infection of the patient . Not only in infection prevention protocol ,in all the procedures collaboration between the professionals is one of the key factors to implement the evidence based practice and attain the goal.

The joint commission goal 7 - hospitals implement policies and practices aimed at reducing the rain of central line associated bloodstream infections that meet regularty and are aligned with evidence based practice and standards.
