Wanda has inherited a genetic defect that significantly increases her risk for the most serious form of skin cancer. It does not cause any pain, daily symptoms, or discomfort. She avoids direct exposure to sunlight and limits her time in sun-based activities. Wanda eats nutritiously, exercises regularly, doesn't drink alcohol, doesn't use tobacco and doesn't use illegal drugs. She has set up a bi-annual (every 6 months) appointment routine with her Dermatologist for skin checks. Does Wanda have a disease? Where would you place Wanda on the illness-wellness continuum and why?

Inherited genetic defect : it may comes from parents to children due to gene mutation and it leads to disorders occurs in the children.

Disease definition : disease means illness or sickness and have some signs and symptoms.

* In this case the Wanda has inherited a genetic defect.

* there are so many types of diseases like infectious diseases, deficiency diseases, heriditory diseases, physiological diseases.

* heriditory diseases includes both genetic and non genetic diseases.

* so, she is having defect , but still not showing signs and symptoms.

* But she is having high risk for skin cancer and she is having some limitations like, avoiding exposure to the sunlight, limited sun based activities ect.
