Answer #1

A high-deductible health plan (HDHP) is a health insurance plan with lower premiums and higher deductibles than a traditional health plan. Deductibles are the cost you will pay out-of-pocket during an insurance claim.

In this case the annual deduction is $2500 of which you have paid only $300 , pending is $2200.

Surgical procedure cost Rs $1890.

When ever there is a utilization of healthcare services and payment is done in terms of medical insurance then the amount which is deducted annually is paid from the patient's side and if the hospital charges is more than the deductible amount then the amount left after deducting the annual deductible amount from hospital charges is paid by the medical insurance company .

The payer does not owe anything rather he has to pay a total of $2200 as they haven't paid the total deductible amount .
