IVIG ( Intravenous immunoglobulines) are products of the human plasma, these are first introduced in the year of 1952.

To treat immunodeficiency disorders.

These are contains pooled immunoglobulines G.

These are immune system improvement products.

Side effects of IVIG :

* head ache

* fever

* fatigue

* chills

* urticaria

* chest tightness

* wheezing

* chest pain

* muscle cramps

* dizziness

* blood pressure changes

These are the side-effects .

Patient and family education :

* The nurse must be educate all side effects and benefits of these drug.

* leaflets should give the clients to understand the uses of drug.

* Educate to follow aseptic precautions.

* educate like the infusion should be taken in the hospital only because to see and observe for side effects.

Nursing considerations :

* take consent.

* prepare the client.

* first give test dose.

* if not there any side effects give slow infusion first and increase it.

* before giving, give supportive medicine like injection Avil and hydrocartisone.

* observe client continueously.

Here according to one kg, 2 gm per 10 ml in 6 hrs.

So for 3 hours 5 ml.

1 and half an hour 2.5 ml.

So for first half an hour 0.5 ml.

If runs infusion at 1/4 rate for 30 minutes means in 0.5 ml 1/4th.

So that is 0.5 / 4 = 0.125 ml per first 1/2 hr.

The second half an hour half rate per 30 minutes

So 0.5/2 = 0.25 ml per hour.

If the infusion is tolerated increases the rate 2 ml per hour means.

The remaining balance from after one hour of infusion is 9.625 ml.

If 2 ml per hour means for next 5 hours, the rate is 1.925 ml per hour.
