CDS (CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM) : -

A clinical decision support system is defined as a health technology information system which is used to provide clinical decision support with performing certain tasks by physicians and health care providers. It is used in providing diagnosis based on patient information in providing quality of care to patients.

- Critical care unit clinical environment to be chosen as a clinical decision system leading group

- Clinical problems in the critical care units are improper working of high equipped machines like ventilators, suction apparatus, defibrillators, less beds to admit patients to the units, insufficient staffing pattern to provide effective care 24 hourly to patients

- In order to be successful in clinical infrastructure and over come the problems the issues have to be solved by making clinical decisions which should be effective for patient care. The interfaces needed are -

* Collection of complete data reports of the critical care units, bedding capacity, admission records, staff pattern

* Managing of information between health care providers, higher authority people informing the current issues in the ward

* Collect feedback from patients regarding health care services and facilities provided int he units

* Assess clinical registers of staff members so that particular information regarding staff scarcity is informed to the superintendents to perform immediate actions in allotting required staff to the units

* Perform daily checking of equipment and make a report on the machines whether they are working or not

* Maintaining of records on equipment supply register, machinery, staff report, patient census and making clinical decisions for providing quality care to patients.
