Documentation of dangerous drugs should be ordered in separate drug book . Separate pages must be used for each item order . The order drug details should be clearly mentioned in this book such as name of drug , dose , quantity and signature and name of of registered nurse, practitioner and charge nurse of the Department. These registers should be kept safe with the incharge nurse .

Storage of dangerous drugs is very important because it should be kept safely inorder to avoid drug abuse . These drugs should be kept safe in a cabinet and it should be locked .Registered nurse should check the cabinet during each shift . The keys should be in the hands of incharge nurse or registered nurse, it should not mix with other keys . When there is a situation of missing keys , duplicate keys must be issued and the staff should write incident report.
