RESEARCH HELP! I'm doing an evidence-based project and I need to find what the evidence-based guidelines regarding pain management for pediatric patients following tonsillectomy are. I need an evidence-based journal to write about! Needs to be within the last 5 yrs.

Eviden- based guidelines refers to the way of approaching and solving a problem systematically set in prior.This can be used by a patient, providers or the management to effectively treat a patient.

The evidence-based guidelines regarding pain management for paediatric patient following tonsillectomy are categorized into three namely low quality evidence, moderate quality evidence and high quality evidence .some of them are as following

• Administer dexamethasone intra operatively to reduce pain and post operative nausea and vomiting. Dexmedetomidine intra operatively to reduce use of opiods,for obstructive sleep apnea cases and for minor air way trouble cased.Ondasetron intra operatively can reduce post op nausea and vomiting (strong quality evidence )
• Ibrufen and acetaminophen post operatively for pain(Strong quality evidence)
• If ondasetron didn't work then metaclopromide is prescribed post op yo reduce nause and vomiting (strong quality evidence )
• As a part of adjunctive therapy honey is given 3-4 times a day(weak quality evidence)
• Admit children less than 3 years(very low quality Evidence )
• Administer steroid for pain after 24 hours if pain not controlled (weak quality evidence )
