Answer #1

Weight of the patient= 200 lb= 90 kg( 200× 0.45)

Prescribed dose= 300 mcg in 250 ml of NS

Infusion rate = 0.5 mcg/ kg/hr

ie, 0.5× 90 = 45 mcg/hour

300 mcg in 250 ml

So 1 ml= X mcg

X = 300/250= 1.2 mcg

1 ml = 1.2 mcg

Like wise, infusion rate= 45 mcg/hr= Y ml/ hr

1/1.2= Y/45

1.2 Y= 45

So, Y= 45/1.2= 37.5 ml

Infusion rate= 37.5 ml/hr

patient receive 45 mcg/ hr
