14. Dose of Aminophylline is 25mg

Volume of D5W is 250ml

Total time to infuse is 6.5 hours

Calculate flow rate

Flow rate = Total dose of drug to be infused / Total time to infuse

= 25mg / 6.5 hr

= 3.84 mg/hr

15. Ordered dose of Heparin is 1650 units/ hr IV

Available dose of Heparin is 25000 units in 500ml of IV fluid

Calculate ml /hr

25000units of Heparin is present in 500ml

1 unit of heparin will be present in 500/ 25000ml

Then 1650units of heparin will be present in 500/ 25000× 1650

= 33ml/hr of available Heparin has to be given to give a dose of 1650units /hour

16. Ordered dose of drug 3gm = 3000mg

Total volume is 500ml of D5W

Flow rate of 5mg/min

Calculate the time

Flow rate = total ordered dose of drug /total time

5 mg /min = 3000mg / total time

Total time = 3000/ 5

= 600 mins is equal to 10 hours

Now, time is known

Flow rate in ml /hr

= Total volume /total time

= 500ml/ 10 hours

= 50ml / hr is the flow rate .

17. Ordered dose of lidocaine is 2gm = 2000mg

Total volume is 1000ml of D5W

Flow rate = 12ml/hr

Calculate the time

Flow rate =total volume / total time

12ml/hr = 1000ml/ total time

Total time = 1000ml/ 12ml/hr

= 83.3 hrs

Now , calculate flow rate in mg/hr

Flow rate = total dose /total time

= 2000mg / 83.3hr

= 24 mg/hr

Converting83.3 hr to min = 4998 mins

Flow rate = 2000mg / 4998min

= 0.4mg /min
